Ryan & Lise’s Stewart Creek & Rundleview Park Wedding

Red Bloom Photography

The day was fore casted to rain almost all day, but the rain held off for this absolutely

stunning wedding!  I got a test a couple days before the wedding from Lise telling me

that their wedding was outdoors rain or shine and it reminded me just how perfectly suited

this adventurous couple was for me and my style.  Lucky for us it did not rain on their ceremony

or really at all on their day but we were prepared with umbrellas just in case. I always feel that if you

chose to get married in the  mountains then why would you ever want to move your ceremony or

your photos to an indoor location.  This day was so intimate and laid back which is the perfect

combination for me.  After 12 years together these two have built something so special and it

shows in the way that they interact with each other and in the way their friends and family talk about

them.  Speaking of friends and family…man were their speeches hilarious! I was crying behind

my camera cause I was laughing so hard. I  have shot weddings before where the speeches have so

many inside jokes that half the guest and myself just sit/stand there not knowing the joke but

not at this wedding. Everyone told stories that were so funny and heartfelt.  Below is

Ryan & Lise’s Wedding Story but first some words from them.

How did you guys meet ?

We met in high school math class 11 years ago. We started hanging out and soon afterwards

we were dating. We have since built our lives together and wouldn’t change a thing.
Please share the proposal story with us?

Proposal started with us doing housework and as we finished Ryan said let’s go for a bike ride. We packed

some wine and cheese and headed down to Fish Creek. About half way there, I was ready to turn a

round because it was such a windy day. But Ryan was adamant to keep going and to my surprise I would soon

be engaged. As we went down into the valley, the wind died down and we found the perfect spot for our picnic.

We had a glass of wine and some food while looking at the river with no one else around. I sensed

something was up because Ryan was obviously waiting for the right moment, although I still didn’t expect

a proposal at the time. Ryan started reminiscing about our relationship and how he

can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together. He pulled out the ring from behind him and asked

if I would marry him. Of course I said yes and fast forward to today, we’re so

excited to be a married couple as of June 9th.
Most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Bride: The ceremony. While holding Ryan’s hands looking into his eyes and being pronounced
Mr. and Mrs. McAnulty then having our first kiss as a married couple. This was the most
amazing moment, I will never forget it.
Groom: Seeing Lise for the first time. They made me wait a good minute (which felt like forever) with
her right behind me and all I wanted to do was turn around. After Monica gave me the
green light, I turned and saw her. She was absolutely gorgeous.
Besides making the choice to marry each other, what was the easiest decision you made for your wedding?
The easiest decision was choosing to have our wedding in the mountains.
What made it so easy?  It has always been our favorite getaway, we’ve had many good memories there
and adding our wedding makes it even more special to us.
What was the most difficult, time consuming choice that you made for your wedding day?
Choosing the specific songs that would be played throughout the wedding (first dance, cake cutting, ceremony etc)
And advice to couples on this? Start thinking about it early! See what’s recommended, listen to them and make
a shortlist. Then over the next few days, listen to the shortlist and pick your favorite.
Try not to decide all in one night because it can be overwhelming.

Advice to couples planning their wedding day?

My biggest piece of advice would be to make a list and do one thing at a time. Trying to
tackle everything at once can burn you out quickly and just be overwhelming. Of course,
work together, try not to stress and enjoy the process because it’s going to be the most amazing day of your life!

party could enjoy cocktail hour. Breaking photos up this way works really well if it is planned
well with timing and locations. canmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographerrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingrundleview_park_weddingcanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographercanmore_wedding_photographerRyan & Lise’s day of coordinator was Kelsey with White Copper Events and she did a fantastic job.
