Matthew & Michelle | Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana Wedding
Calgary Wedding Photographers | Red Bloom Photography
Matt & Michelle found me after their friend hired me for her wedding. I remember getting
the first email from them telling me that their wedding was at the Hard Rock
Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana. I remember the exact moment because I nearly fell
out of my chair with excitement. What they didn’t know at the time was that my husband and I
visit Hard Rock Cafe’s all over the world and we have always wanted to stay at a Hard Rock Hotel.
After some emailing back and forth we decided that we would meet in person during
one of her upcoming trips to Edmonton. Let me tell you though, that the pressure was on
because I shot her best friends engagement session just 30 minutes before meeting
her for the first time. After our meeting I waited 2 long days until she emailed me
and told me that they want me to join them for their wedding. What was really great about this
destination wedding was that my husband and I traveled down 3 days before all the guests so
we actually had some alone time to get to know the couple better and really get to know the resort.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is a stunning place for a wedding! The rooms are a-plus, the
food is amazing and the entertainment is top notch! We enjoyed every single night.
Matt & Michelle welcomed their guests with these cute little welcome kits which included
a hangover kit and a cute door hanger for their guests doors. They also hosted an
awesome welcome party on the roof top of one of the restaurants. Just a few days later
the wedding day was here and it went perfectly. After a romantic ceremony, we headed
to the beach for some shots and then the bride hitched a ride on a poppa wheelin
golfcart(probably my most favorite shot ever), we finished off photos on the
grounds of the resort and then it was off to the party. The Hard Rock and Matt & Michelle sure
know how to throw a party…and right when I was about to pack up and leave
the boys took their shirts off…i have never had a better reason to work overtime then topless
groomsmen!! ha ha Oh and I have to add that this is the first time I actually got to
photograph a groom opening up his boudoir photoshoot gift of his bride and I loved it!!
It was cool to see his face light up and his smile go from ear to ear!!!
And some words from Matt & Michelle:
Most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Matt: I have so many memorable moments it’s hard to pick just one.. of course my number one
was seeing my beautiful bride for the first time. But the entire day was filled with memorable moments,
our MC was unforgettable, the bridal party was sometimes outta control but for the most
part they were pretty amazing, the reception, the speeches, just everything.
Michelle: I will never forget the feeling I had when I was waiting with my dad to walk down the aisle,
it was so emotional and overwhelming.. I was happy, scared, & sick to my stomach all at the same time.. it was like
the worst case of butterflies I think a person could possibly have. Then when I finally walked down,
I waited 9 years to walk down that aisle to my man so it was definitely the most memorable moment for me.
Advice to couples planning a destination wedding?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, honestly if you are thinking about getting married at any Hard Rock resorts,
they will make sure everything is absolutely perfect. Don’t work yourself up over menus, favors, name cards
ect.. focus on the big things like the entire bridal parties attire, flowers, DJ & please people –
spend the money on a good photographer. Monica was a seriously a blessing on my wedding day!
