How did you hear about RBP?
An acquaintance of mine had done a boudoir session with Monica a few years ago. I started
following Monica’s work on Instagram soon after.
Why did you book a boudoir session?
Just cause! I thought it would be a great way to positively build up my body image.
I always had wanted to do a session with Monica but would never commit to it until I won
credits from a giveaway she did. After that I figured it was a great reason to book a session.
Do you remember what drew you to Monica’s style ?
Editing, lighting, posing, studio, personality…. EVERYTHING! Specifically I LOVE
how bright all of Monica’s photos are. That style combined with her online personality were
the main things that made me decide to book with her versus anyone else.
How did you feel leading up to the session?
NERVOUS. My original date was postponed the day before so I had two waves of
nervousness during the preparation. I was mostly worried that my body wasn’t going to look
how I wanted it to or that my outfits weren’t perfect enough. When I got my tan Jenn was great because
she let you know what to expect during the shoot. When I got my makeup done Bobi was almost like your
personal cheer squad. Both Jenn and Bobi were able to help calm my nerves.
How did you feel during the session?
Very comfortable and excited. Monica was awesome. The second she answered the door
I felt very at ease and welcomed. Originally I wasn’t sure that I’d picked the “right” outfits,
but Monica was so excited and encouraging. She discussed all of my hesitations with me and immediately
I’d forgotten why I was even nervous to begin with. The rest of the shoot was a blast, Monica showered me with
compliments and had me laughing the entire time.
How did seeing your final images make you feel?
Omg. Amazing is an understatement. I was having an awful self image day when Monica
sent me my gallery link and it was EXACTLY what I needed. When I opened my gallery and realized
that the header photo was ME I was in awe. I felt like an absolute queen.
What would you say to friends thinking about doing a boudoir session?
Omg! I have already told all of my friends and family to do a boudoir session (and to do it with Monica).
It was such an empowering experience and I am beyond glad that I did it (and will definitely
do another in the future).
